Tess Fitzgerald works at the forefront of decarbonisation in Australia’s energy sector. She works extensively with state and Commonwealth governments, industry partners and market institutions to plot a new path for Australia’s energy in the 21st Century. 

Tess started her career at Allens, where she spent a decade working on energy and resource projects in Australia. During her time at Allens, she worked in the firm’s Hong Kong, Beijing and Ulaanbaatar offices on a range of transnational initiatives and transactions. Currently, as a partner at KPMG leading energy policy and commercial projects, Tess draws on her prior experience with industry and in law.  

She holds a bachelor degree in Arts and first-class honours in Law from the University of Melbourne, and also studied at the Duke University School of Law.  She lives in Brunswick with her two children, her husband and their two cats.
