Krystina Emmanouilides is a Computational Fluid Dynamics Engineer at Sauber Motorsport AG, who are entered into the 2022 Formula One World Championship as Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN.

Moving from Australia to pursue her dream of working in Motorsport, Krystina undertook her studies in England, completing her B.Eng (Hons) in Motorsport Engineering at Oxford Brookes University, and MSc by Research (MScRes) at Durham University.

Krystina has a diverse engineering background, having worked in the motorsport, software (Exa PowerFLOW, now a Dassault Systèmes company) and automotive (Jaguar Land Rover) industries in the UK, Italy and Switzerland.

In parallel to her work as an engineer, Krystina is involved in various activities and organisations as she strives to drive change towards a more inclusive and equal landscape within the motorsport industry.

Working across various sectors in the industry, Krystina became aware of the struggles some people face to be their authentic self as a result of the environment. As a gay woman, Krystina joined Racing Pride - a movement developed to positively promote LGBTQ+ inclusivity in motorsport - as an Industry Ambassador in 2020. In 2022, Krystina was appointed to the board of directors, a position in which she can help to influence change in the industry.

In 2022, Krystina became an ambassador for Motorsport Australia’s FIA Girls on Track program. The program aims to grow interest and increase female participation in STEM subjects and industries, using motorsport as a tool to expose young women in schools to incredible opportunities and career paths.
