Anna Bradbury Little Arts Scholarship – Student Updates
Earlier this year, violinist Riitta Ruan and cellist Yuyang (Kaly) Guo were awarded the Anna Bradbury Little Arts Scholarship, supporting their passion and commitment to music. Just a few months on, both students have shared how the scholarship has already made a real difference in their journeys.
For Riitta, the bursary has eased the financial pressures of pursuing advanced music studies.
“The Anna Bradbury Little Scholarship has been invaluable in making my journey in music more affordable. It has relieved the burden of financial constraints in pursuing music, which I am extremely grateful for!”
Riitta used the funds to cover the exam fee for her upcoming Violin Associate in Music Diploma and to undertake regular lessons with piano accompaniment.
“Playing together with a pianist in person has really helped me progress further with my musical listening. It has greatly honed my skills and added layers and depth to my music.”
For Yuyang, the scholarship has offered both practical support and creative momentum.
“I am very grateful to the Mac.Rob Foundation for supporting my musical journey through the scholarship I received this year.”
She used the bursary to purchase a new cello case, keeping her instrument safe as she travels to rehearsals and performances, as well as a theory book to strengthen her preparation for the AMus exam.
“These items have already made a significant difference in my daily practice and confidence as a musician.”
The updates from Riitta and Yuyang are a powerful reminder of the impact the Anna Bradbury Little Arts Scholarship continues to have - supporting talented students not only in their artistic pursuits, but also in building the confidence and skills to reach new heights.
