Sally is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon recognised for her commitment to surgical innovation and the advancement of patient outcomes. Born in Hong Kong, she migrated to Melbourne in 1996. She was offered entry into Year 11 at Mac.Robertson Girls’ High School in 1998, an experience that proved instrumental in shaping her aspirations and values. She graduated as joint Dux in 1999 and was awarded the Sir John Monash Scholarship to study medicine at Monash, where she completed her MBBS with Honours in 2005.
Sally attained Fellowship in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in 2016, followed by advanced subspecialty training at leading centres in Shanghai, Seoul, Tokyo, Barcelona and the United States. She further strengthened her academic and leadership expertise through a Clinical Diploma in Surgical Leadership (2021) and a Master’s degree in Surgical Lymphology (2025).
Her clinical and academic work is focused on advancing oncological reconstructive microsurgery. She leads a plastic surgery research unit within the Department of Surgery at Austin Health and has made sustained contributions to the field through research and innovation. As Clinical Lead of Lymphatic Services at Austin Health, she has introduced novel techniques to improve the prevention, early detection and management of lymphoedema following cancer treatment. She also established the scar and laser service at the Victorian Adult Burns Service, contributing to improved long-term outcomes for patients with burn injuries.
Sally is a dedicated leader and mentor, committed to excellence, humility and collaboration. She served as President of the Palladians Association from 2019 to 2024, fostering mentorship and leadership within the school community. Outside of her work, she values travel and the exploration of remote regions to draw inspiration from diverse cultures. She is a mother of two daughters and strives to be a positive role model through her dedication, integrity and intellectual curiosity.
