This year’s writing recipients shared how the scholarship will help strengthen their craft and create opportunities to further develop their work.
For Mackenzie Li, writing is deeply personal.
“Writing, to me, has always been more than a skill or a subject at school. It is how I make sense of the world, how I return to myself, and how I find the courage to turn silence into something shared.”
Mackenzie said the scholarship would support mentorship, manuscript development and editing for a novel currently in progress.
Reina Conway described the scholarship as both affirming and empowering.
“This scholarship allows me to expand my script writing, creative writing, debating as well as academic research, and I am incredibly grateful to the donors whose generosity contributes to my love and commitment for the arts.”
Musical Talents
Music recipients Isabel Baron Gonzaga and Chern Xuan Kong spoke about the opportunities the scholarship will unlock in their artistic development.
For Isabel, the support will allow greater access to resources for performance, arranging and composition projects.
“I am extremely grateful to have received this scholarship and the extensive developmental and academic opportunities I will have access to on my journey as a musician throughout my life,” she said.
Chern Xuan Kong said the scholarship would provide opportunities previously inaccessible.
“I am truly incredibly grateful to receive this scholarship as it gives me an opportunity to further my skills as a musician with higher quality resources and opportunities that would have otherwise been out of my reach.”
Visual Arts Visionaries
Visual Arts scholarships were awarded to Clara Chin and Jiya Kirtan Pandya for their creativity, imagination and artistic promise.
For Clara, the scholarship eases the financial pressure often associated with pursuing the arts.
“This scholarship means the world to me as it gives me a feasible chance to pursue my passion for the arts without the worry of financial burden.”
Jiya said the scholarship would help elevate her filmmaking ambitions and creative storytelling.
“Receiving this scholarship means that my ideas no longer have to be limited by what I can access, but instead by how far I’m willing to push my creativity.”
Dramatic Arts in Action
Recipients Grace Hughes and Tarenya Joshi were recognised for their dedication to theatre and performance.
Grace said the scholarship would allow her to continue voice lessons and invest further into upcoming productions and performances.
“Thank you so much for this opportunity to continue my commitment to the arts and expand my theatrical talents.”
For Tarenya, the scholarship represents freedom to pursue artistic growth without financial limitations.
“I am just so incredibly grateful for this opportunity and excited for the avenues this scholarship can open up for me.”
“I think it gives me a kind of freedom that wouldn’t be possible without it.”
Anna's Legacy Lives On
Now in its fifth year, the Anna Bradbury Little Arts Scholarship was established to honour the memory of Anna Bradbury Little, a talented Mac.Rob alumna and internationally recognised artist and architect.
Anna worked on major projects around the world, including the Seattle Library in the United States, the music hall in Porto, Portugal, and Prada stores internationally. Her life was tragically cut short at the age of 34 while travelling in Moscow.
Established in Anna’s memory, the scholarship supports students in Years 10-12 pursuing excellence across written, dramatic, musical and visual arts.
The Mac.Rob Foundation congratulates all 2026 recipients and looks forward to following their artistic journeys in the years ahead.
